I’m like a kid in a candy store with these paintings! I can’t get enough of them.
This is painted again on pre-printed scrapbooking paper that has been printed with a larger dot pattern. You can see some of the dots in the upper left, ever so faintly.
I gessoed the paper, then painted the colors, and then drizzled on black India Ink.
I’m using a limited palette with these paintings – I’m not pulling out all my paint tubes. I generally use a yellow, red, blue, and sometimes green. Also white and sometimes Payne’s Gray. I mix the colors loosely, and use several thin layers.
I drip on the ink, blowing it around with a drinking straw. I’m not trying to form any specific image. Sometimes, I’ll outline an interesting area of color. Other times, I let the ink go where it wants.
