Do you choose a word of the year? I do, and have done it for at least a decade. My word this year is Clear.
- Clear my calendar for people who are important to me.
- Clear my calendar of distractions.
- Clear the clutter: mental and physical.
- Be clear in my expectations and speech.
The word “clear’ gives me a peaceful feeling. Reminds me of clear skies, water, sunshine. Open space. It gives me a feeling of comfort, as if a weight has been lifted.
To help me focus on my word during the year, I make a postcard sized collage that I can carry with me. I chose pictures with light, clear colors that remind me of clear skies, clear water, bright clear sunshine.
Then, I added other images that inspire me or make me happy so that I am drawn to look at the card often. It becomes a mix of affirmation, inspiration, and vision board.
When I finished my card, I laminated it so that I can carry it safely all year.
