I’ll admit – it was love at first sight. I came ’round the corner, and, ah…there it was.
At the Avant Garde Art & Craft show last Saturday, I wandered away from my table to see the other vendors. I went out one door and when I came back in the other, there was Andrea Rogers at her Blue Highways table loaded with gorgeous blank books. I mean GORGEOUS!
It’s true; I’m hopeless when it comes to blank books. Always have been. The temptations of lovely covers and the promises of empty pages are too much to resist.
But this one is really special. It is handmade, covered in batik fabric, the pages are 80# drawing paper, beautifully matched end papers, and the spine – did you see that spine! Ooof.
Fortunately, I’ve just finished a sketchbook and am in need of another. The fact that I have a shelf full of them at home – phfft! – no matter. This is the one I’ll use.
Go, fly, be free, but whatever you do, do it with a Blue Highways book in hand. You’ll be glad you did.

Karen, I saw her books and was amazed. The spines, oh yes, the spines, were so beautiful. Happy to hear you got one and thanks for sharing the lovely photos! Gorgeous!
:O)

Hi Jessica! Yes, I spent about 15 minutes just looking at the book when I got it home, almost afraid to make a mark in it. But, I went ahead and have been happily journaling and doodling away since. 🙂
