You don’t post for a few days and friends start pinging you asking, “Are you OK? Haven’t seen you posting in a while and just wanted to be sure you’re all right”.
Oops.
I am grateful for the concern, but, yeah, that tells me I post a lot. I try to post every day but maybe that’s too much?
I’ve been kinda quiet for a few weeks because I’m doing behind-the-scenes stuff. Stuff that isn’t finished enough to post about.
Like what?
Well, I just finished teaching a 5-week entrepreneurship class, which was all about setting up a business using Etsy, identifying target customers, basic branding, marketing, photography, and social media. Super good class, really intense, lots of prep, very rewarding.
At the same time, I’m prepping for a Collage Techniques class in Shaker Heights that starts on October 16.
I’m also getting ready for the Christkindl Markt at the Canton Art Museum in November. I’m taking only scarves – no art – gulp! – and am painting my little fingers blue. Yeah. For real.
The scarves are silk and rayon, large and small, rectangular and infinity-styles. They will debut at Uncommon ART by the end of October, in case you want to get first pick before I go to the show. Hint, hint.
Oh, and clock towers. You know, the series I do of the Hudson clock tower in the style of famous artists? I’m doing another series of 12 new ones that I’ll print up as a calendar.
Then in my spare time, I’ve been taking an online class in reconstructed journals led by Juliana Coles. Kinda like a cross between altered books and junk journals but taken a whole step beyond. I HIGHLY recommend it! I’ve taken several classes of Juliana’s and they are always outstanding. So far in this class I’ve made 2 journals and am working in one of them. I’ll post pics – or even a video! – when it’s finished.
So, yeah. Lots of things going on. Not much finished to show you yet. Unless you want to see a pile of unwashed scarves.
