The Ohio Collage Society will hold its 6th Annual Members Exhibit in November. The show opens Friday, November 2, at Studio 2091 Gallery in Cuyahoga Falls. Join us from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. for the show opening.
Can’t make it? Catch the show during the month of November through December 1.
My entry is “Finding My Way Home” (pictured), a collage made with acrylic paint, handmade papers, printed images, some purchased house numbers, and a gingko leaf.
The numbers all represent street addresses of places where I’ve lived throughout my life: 391 was our house in California when I was very small.
8694 was the house my parents owned for 35 years and the one I really consider to be my family home. 9024 and 126 are both places that I’ve owned myself.
Visit Studio 2091 on Facebook to keep in touch with them.
Check out the Ohio Collage Society’s blog for more information. They’ve posted photos from the opening on the blog here: http://shirleyendesaxe.typepad.com/ohio_collage_society_news/2012/11/ocs-members-exhibit-2012-studio-2091-gallery.html
Here are two photos that I took at the opening on Nov. 2:
And here’s my piece hanging between an assemblage by Gwen Waight and two collages by Shirley Ende-Saxe. Gwen’s assemblages won a judge’s award.
