Dawn and Dusk are 2 small landscapes that are continuations of my Lyrical Landscape series. Dawn is on the left; Dusk on the right.
They are 14 inches tall x 11 inches wide on deep gallery wrapped canvases. Made of painted paper, wallpaper, and painted bubble wrap, they speak to the changing light as the sun rises and sets. Magical times of day, that play with color.
I have had a piece of bubble wrap for years. Years! I had used it to make marks in monoprints, so it was covered in beautiful shades of pink, peach, teal, yellow, red.
I kept it, through several studio moves, because it was really beautiful.
I finally decided to use it before I lost or damaged it. The Lyrical Landscapes seemed to be the right place to use it.
The bubbles go all across the canvas and wrap around the sides, creating a flow from one canvas to the next.
