Effervescence

Effervescence is an expression of joy, a reminder that the good will bubble up to the surface.

It is 30 inches tall x 24 inches wide on a deep gallery wrapped canvas.

The artwork is made of 2 layers: the underlayer is a canvas covered in brightly colored acrylic paint and painted paper.

The upper layer is made of drawing paper that has been torn apart, reassembled randomly into a large sheet, and punched full of holes. It was painted in multiple transparent layers of acrylic paint and machine stitched. The holes were edged in gold paint. The paper sheet was then wrapped around the canvas completely.

The holes in the paper layer allow the bright canvas to shine through.
