“Memories of Unanswered Questions” came out of a sketching/brainstorming session several weeks ago. I was playing with the idea of “questions” and “unanswered questions”. An image kept developing that was mostly light-colored on one side, with a colorful stripe down the other.
The colored stripe developed into tiny bits of colorful paper torn into confetti-sized bits. The light area is a pile of shredded paper – bank statements, credit card receipts – from my office. The background is a map page that I ran through my ink jet printer and printed a photo from a sketching exercise.
And, to tie it all together, so to speak, are several lines of machine stitching in red thread.
