Pink Moon was inspired by June’s full moon called the Strawberry Moon.
Part of the Elementals series, this piece a continuation of my attempts to distill visual images down to the most essential parts. I have a tendency to over-complicate things: when I’m making a collage, I tend to keep adding and adding and adding and adding and adding until the image is heavy and overdone.
More is not always better!
Removing pieces to simplify the image is challenging, but usually leads to a better, more interesting, more cohesive artwork. Almost seems counter intuitive, doesn’t it, that taking pieces away makes a more complete image?
